Daiki Terakado

SM ’25

Daiki earned his M.S. in Engineering and Management in 2025, where he conducted his thesis on spacecraft refueling architecture under the supervision of Prof. Olivier de Weck. He also worked as a Research Assistant on technology roadmapping and R&D strategy. He holds a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Tokyo. Before joining MIT, he spent seven years as a Rocket Propulsion Systems Engineer at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), contributing to the development of the second-stage engine for Japan’s flagship H3 rocket and the propulsion system for CALLISTO, a reusable first-stage demonstrator.
