Chris Tommila

PhD Candidate

Chris is a PhD candidate and Draper Scholar with research interests spanning satellite systems, astrodynamics and distributed system architecture. His current research is focused on the evolution of collaborative space situational awareness sensor networks to ensure safety and sustainability of operations in Earth orbit. Chris holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University and an M.S. in Astronautical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology. Prior to joining MIT, he was a senior instructor of astronautics at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
