In partnership with KACST (in Riyadh) , this project focuses on applying deep learning tools to satellite imagery. Currently the project is focused on leveraging the power of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to detect damage in areas affected by natural disasters, such as hurricanes, tornados, and earthquakes. By measuring the amount of damage over time, the resiliency and recovery time of a community can be measured, which can be used to help prepare for future disasters.
